FAQs
What makes Happy Hound Bakeshop Dog Treats better than other dog treats?
We bake our treats using only all natural, human grade ingredients. We do not use fillers and we do not use chemical preservatives. Everything in our treats is something you could find in your own kitchen.
Our treats allow you to feel good about what you're dog is putting in his body.
When should my package arrive?
Because we prepare all orders as they are placed, it will take us 1 – 3 days to get your fresh product in the mail. Depending on where you live, shipping may take 3 – 5 days. You should receive your package of deliciousness within 7 days.
What type of ingredients does Happy Hound Bakeshop Use?
We use peanut butter, whole wheat flour, oat flour and almond flour, whole oats, carrots, carob powder (similar to chocolate, but healthy for dogs), pumpkin, bananas, blueberries, and vitamin E oil as a natural preservative. We look to add new recipes all the time and would love to hear from you if you have suggestions for new flavors. Email us at Maria@HappyHoundBakeshop.com. We may even name a product after your pupper.
How should I store the dog treats?
Our dog treats are packaged in a food grade zippered bag with a moisture wicking packet. Be sure to reseal the bag after each use. For best storage, remove excess air out of bag before sealing. You may choose to store the treats in some other container. I would suggest you also transfer the moisture wicking packet to the container. Moisture is a treat's worst enemy. Keeping moisture away from the treats allows for longer life and protects them from mold.
If you keep the treats stored well, they will last in excess of three months.
Treats may be stored in the refrigerator or freezer to extend life as well. Dogs can eat the treats directly from either.
Guaranteed, your dogs won’t let the shelf life run out on these treats, but if you have any issues or questions about this, email us at Maria@HappyHoundBakeshop.com.
How long will the treats last?
If your dog beats you to the mailbox, the treats will last about 20 seconds.
If you store them in the packaging or an airtight container, they are guaranteed at least three months.
If you store them in the refrigerator – six months or more.
If you store them in the freezer – twelve months or more.
What is the Dog Treat process?
There are rules and regulations on home baked dog treats. Our business is located in Georgia. In Georgia we are required to have our dog treat recipes tested by a laboratory. Once testing is complete, we must file for registration of each separate recipe with the State USDA office. USDA has rules that our business must follow. They can and have visited our home.
How should I care for my dog’s bow ties?
Our bow ties are handmade using quality fabrics. You may spot clean them or you may wash them in the washing machine. I would suggest that you place them in some type of netted bag when putting them through the regular wash cycle. If the band around the middle of the bow tie comes off during washing or during doggy rough play, you may simply slide it back on. Just fold the bow tie, pinch it and slide the band to the middle of the fabric. If you have any issues, contact us at Maria@HappyHoundBakeshop.com.
